Activities for Seniors: How to Boost Your Memory
Looking for ways to boost your memory? We have some tips that are good for people at any age.
We all have moments of forgetfulness, but as we age these moments seem to increase. Here are some tips to help you stay sharp as you age.
Lace up your walking shoes
Taking a walk around the block or on the treadmill will not only improve your cardiovascular health, but your brain health too. Being physically active is one of the best things you can do to preserve your memory as you age.
Just as physical exercise is important for your body and mind, so is mental exercise. Try something new like working through a Sudoku puzzle, joining a book club, playing board games with friends, or learning a new skill or hobby. There are endless opportunities to challenge your mind; it’s just a matter of finding something you want to do!
Fuel your brain
Eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help promote memory retention. Trying out some new recipes is a great way to engage your brain and eat healthy.
Get your beauty sleep
A consistent sleep schedule gives your body and mind time to recover from the day. Talk to your Primary Care Provider if you have recurrent disruptions to your sleep.
