Updates are now available on Select Health’s Public Drug Search, powered by Scripius. These updates highlight key elements of prior authorization, step therapy, and other utilization management requirements.
Here are some of the key upgrades:
Prior Authorization (PA)
- Exclusions and requirements are more clearly defined, creating enhanced criteria for providers and staff when submitting requests.
- Easy links to our online PA system for medications, PromptPA
- PromptPA directly notifies the submitter if the member does not have active coverage
- Plain submission requirements to help submitters provide the minimum amount of information to start a PA, reducing the need for follow-up
- Ability to attach chart notes directly to a digital request
- Digital submission captures the history of all PA’s
Step Therapy
- Listed steps and therapies a patient needs to try and fail prior to insurance coverage
- Benefits for step therapy upgrades are similar to PA upgrades:
- Patient eligibility checks
- Faster decisions
- Attachable notes that show the patient has met the step therapy criteria
- Audit trail
