Select Health Welcomes Gretchen McGinnis as Assistant Vice President of Peaks Region

Select Health, a nonprofit health plan, today announced Gretchen McGinnis as the new assistant vice president of the Peaks Region Market. In her new role, McGinnis will oversee key strategic initiatives, including business development, market product lines, community partnerships, and overall operational results in the Peaks Region, which includes Colorado and Montana.

“The addition of Gretchen to our team brings extensive experience and deep knowledge of Colorado’s healthcare system,” said Curt Howell, Select Health market president of the Peaks Region. “Her leadership will be crucial in driving our strategic goals and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service, value, and access to care for our members.”

McGinnis will also guide regional product development, sales, and advertising strategies while working closely with Intermountain Health shared services to ensure alignment with the company’s mission and goals.

Prior to joining Select Health, McGinnis served as senior vice president of Healthcare Systems and Accountable Care at Colorado Access in Denver. There, she spearheaded the development and implementation of Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) programs, serving more than 600,000 Medicaid members. She also led the Medicaid request for proposal process, which resulted in three successful bids, providing leadership for Colorado Access' Medicaid, CHP+, and State Managed Care Network programs.

Throughout her career, McGinnis has been instrumental in designing and leading government relations efforts, ensuring the successful execution of contracts, developing population-based preventive health initiatives, and standardizing clinical data and analytics reporting. Her expertise in healthcare market dynamics, particularly within Colorado, and her strong technical background uniquely position her to help drive growth in the Peaks Region.

“I’m honored to take on this new role and contribute to the incredible work that Select Health is doing,” said McGinnis. “The opportunity to shape and advance healthcare access and quality in the region will be a key priority for me. I look forward to working with the team to enhance our presence and deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our members and the communities we serve.”
