Select Health is updating its commercial dental plan offerings, including the networks, benefit offerings, and cost sharing. These updates will not apply to government-sponsored plans. Below are the changes relevant to dental providers, all of which will take effect January 1, 2027.
Fundamental network will be discontinued
The Fundamental network will no longer be offered, and members in this network will be moved to a new network as their plans renew in 2027. Members will access care through one of two provider networks: Prime or Classic.
As a reminder, the Classic network includes dental providers statewide in Utah, while Prime includes dental providers only in Davis, Salt Lake, Weber, and Utah counties.
Flex plan addition
The Flex plan will be added as a new commercial dental plan offering. Members on a Flex plan can see providers in either the Classic or Prime network, with benefit levels designed to encourage the use of Prime providers.
Participating in the Prime network may help dental providers attract Flex plan members seeking richer benefits. When a provider participates in both networks and treats a member on the Flex plan, reimbursement will follow the Prime fee schedule.

Member cost-share options
Members who meet their plan's eligibility criteria may qualify for a higher annual maximum the following year. This rollover feature can be applied after the member completes the first plan year.
Members may also choose to pay a predetermined copayment amount for their covered services rather than coinsurance. These plans will not have an annual benefit maximum.
Optional benefits for group plans
Employers offering group plans may elect to add additional benefits to their plan, including teeth whitening and clear aligners. Dental offices can contact Member Services at 800‑538‑5038 to confirm whether a member has these benefits.
