WHO NEEDS HEALTH INSURANCE?
You do! When it comes to healthcare, everyone should have a plan. Whether you’ve lost coverage or are just looking for a change, we’re committed to helping you find the right insurance plan with the best coverage when and where you need it.
AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) PLANS
If you are looking for your own insurance plan or one for you and your family, these plans are a great option because they offer comprehensive coverage for your medical needs. You may even qualify for a subsidy or cost-sharing reduction, which means that the government may help you pay for the cost of your plan.
There are two ways you can enroll on an ACA plan:
- Using a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) – An SEP is a time outside of the yearly standard Open Enrollment when an individual or family can sign up for health insurance. You may qualify for an SEP if you recently got married, had a baby, moved, lost your job, reached the age of 26, etc. Learn more about SEPs.
- During Open Enrollment – Open Enrollment generally starts November 1 and lasts for a month or so each year. Learn more about ACA plans.
EMPLOYER PLANS
Do you have a job? Many employers offer health insurance options for their employees—you may even be eligible for coverage through yours. Their plan options could include rewards for wellness, a variety of preventive services at no additional cost, and even virtual care options. Reach out to your Human Resources (HR) team for information on how and when to enroll.
MEDICAID PLANS
Need financial assistance? Based on your income or other circumstances, this low- or no-cost health plan may be the right fit for you. Be sure to consider available ACA plans before considering Medicaid, as you may qualify for Advance Premium Tax Credits (APTC). While these tax credits could save you money, it’s important to know that you are ineligible if enrolled in Medicaid.
