Please refer to the commission schedules found in the Commercial and Medicare sections of this newsletter.

Medicare Part D Credibility.

In our determination for plans that are considered creditable, each plan passed if the expected amount Select Health pays for that particular plan is greater than the expected amount paid for standard Medicare coverage. This is according to Medicare’s guidance on creditability determination. You may find that other carriers interpret this differently, however, we believe our methodology is appropriate. Please contact your account manager with questions.

Preventive Cancer Screenings.

Cancer screenings are part of a member’s preventive care routine, and certain routine screenings are covered.

  • Breast Cancer Screenings: Routine mammogram screenings for women can be done once every 275 days. Members should check with their providers about when they should start.
  • Colorectal Cancer Screenings: Guidelines recommend that Colorectal Cancer screenings should be done after a member turns 45. Cologuard screenings are done once every three years. Colonoscopy screenings are done once every five years.
  • Cervical Cancer Screenings: Guidelines recommend that pap tests should be done once every two and a half years for women 21 and older.

Some factors such as preexisting conditions, family health history, and previous cancer concerns may necessitate screenings more often, but providers will let members know if this applies to them.

If your client needs help scheduling any of these screenings or if you have any questions, call Member Services at 800-538-5038.
