Mineral® Human Resources (HR) and Compliance Services
NEW in 2024 for Small Employer groups in Utah and Nevada
Mineral is a platform/website that provides HR and compliance services for companies. We are partnering with them to provide these services to our Small Employer groups in Utah and Nevada. The service will work much like our built-in Intermountain Employee Assistance Program (IEAP). Select Health is contracting with Mineral to cover the cost of the service and groups will contact Mineral directly for help. There will be no system connections. Select Health will only provide Small Employer group details to allow for employer access, not employee information. Employers can choose whether to use the services.
Visit the Mineral website to learn more. For a summary of the services they provide and the employee handbook, visit the following links:

Mineral HR Experts: HR certification through either/both: HR Certification Institute (HRCI); Professional HR (PHR) or Senior Professional HR (SPHR) Society for Human Resources (SHRM); SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
Mineral Benefits Experts (Health, Welfare, and Retirement): International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP): Benefit Experts are required to have their GBA (Group Benefits Associate); some also have their RPA (Retirement Plan Associate). When the GBA and RPA are combined, team members have their full Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).
2024 Formulary changes
We wanted to give you a heads up about upcoming changes to the Select Health RxCore five-tier formulary (the list of a plan's covered drugs). This change will impact a small percentage of current Individual and Small Employer plan members.
We regularly update our prescription coverage to keep treatments accessible and affordable for our members. This year, we bundled several changes to the RxCore five-tier formulary that will take place on January 1, 2024. Patients and prescribing doctors will be notified of any changes that specifically impact them via letter and through our digital channels. Additionally, the following changes will occur:
Small Employers in Utah and Idaho
New and renewing plans will move from the RxSelect five-tier formulary to the RxCore five-tier formulary on their 2024 effective date.
Small Employers in Nevada
Plans will continue to use the RxCore five-tier formulary.
Grandmothered Small Employer plans
Plans will remain on the RxSelect formulary but will be moving from 3-Tier to 4-Tier formulary.
Grandmothered Individual plans
Plans will remain on the RxCore Formulary.
As we manage health care costs for all our members, we sometimes have to make difficult decisions about the drugs we cover and how we cover them. These changes are guided by evidence-based assessments and receive approval from our Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. For additional information, please visit selecthealth.org/rxfaq. To review the 2024 RxCore five-tier drug list for each state, visit selecthealth.org/pharmacy/pharmacy-coverage-2024.
