Member Engagement Details
As a member of Select Health Share®, you can benefit from stable premiums and wellness reward points while being challenged to improve your health by completing Healthy LivingSM activities and Select Health Share engagements.
All employees should complete these activities and engagements:
- Register for a Select Health® account.
- Create a Virgin Pulse account. From your Tasks page, select Membership Rewards. From the Membership Rewards Details page select Sign-Up & Track Steps. This will take you to the Virgin Pulse platform to create an account. You may need to wait 24-48 hours after you've registered for your Select Health account to create a Virgin Pulse account.
- Complete an annual online Virgin Pulse "Health Check" health assessment.
- Attend a worksite health screening event (or obtain the screening from your PCP).
- Complete at least two Activity Campaigns:
- 7,000 Steps Campaign
- Company Team Challenge
- Healthy Habit Challenge
Note: You cannot get credit for a Company Team Challenge and a 7,000 Steps Campaign in the same month. And you must complete four Healthy Habit Challenges to get credit for one Activity Campaign.
Some Select Health Share employees have additional measured engagements to complete (based on age, gender, medical history, or risk factors).
You may be eligible to earn points and be rewarded by Select Health Share for taking preventive actions to improve and manage your health.* (One point equals $1.00 dollar.)
SHARE CANCER SCREENINGS
Based on national guidelines, Select Health Share plan employees must stay current with their cancer screenings. Earn 20 points, that’s $20 for each screening you are required to complete:
- Women age 50-74: Mammogram every two years
- Women age 21-29: Pap test every three years
- Women age 30-65: Pap test every three years, or a Human Papillomavirus (HPV) test every five years
- Men and women age 45-74: Colonoscopy every ten years or other colorectal cancer screening once every one to five years
SHARE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM
Employees at higher risk who have received a letter and are enrolled in Diabetes Prevention should complete a Diabetes Prevention screening:
- 60 points ($60). Get an HbA1c lab test every one to three years - required engagement
Participate in these optional activities and earn yearly bonus rewards:
- 20 points ($20) Prediabetes 101. Attend Intermountain Health’s free two-hour class, available online or in person. An instructor will help you understand your risk and the steps you can take to prevent diabetes.
- 40 points ($40) Health Coach. Talk with a Select Health health coach on the phone twice (sessions must be at least 30 days apart.) They can help you identify lifestyle changes, set goals, and find resources that work.
- 60 points ($60) Medical Nutrition Therapy. Meet with a dietitian for at least three personalized support sessions. Your Select Health Share plan covers five sessions per calendar year at no added cost to you.
- 120 points ($120) Way to Wellness. Earn 60 points by attending 16 classes over six months, and you’ll earn another 60 points by attending seven more classes over the next six months. If you complete all 23 classes, your Select Health Share plan will cover the program at no cost to you.
- Employees with a lower risk for diabetes are also eligible for yearly bonus rewards when they participate in the above optional activities.
SHARE DIABETES MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Earn 60 points ($60) when you complete each of these Share Diabetes Management required engagements:
- Blood sugar monitoring. Get HbA1c lab testing every year.
- Kidney function monitoring. Get blood and urine kidney lab tests every year.
- Get a diabetic retinal eye exam every year if abnormal, or every other year if normal.
In addition to the required engagements, Share Diabetes Management offers you these optional activities to earn yearly bonus rewards:
- 40 points ($40) Health Coach. Talk with a Select Health health coach on the phone twice (sessions must be at least 30 days apart.) They can help you identify lifestyle changes, set goals, and find resources that work.

Employees who enroll in a Select Health Share High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) are strongly encouraged, but not required, to make contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). As always, employee contributions will continue to be matched by your employer, dollar for dollar, at a minimum of 25% and a maximum of 50% of their plan deductible.
