Select Health Awards

Select Health Awards recognizes organizations in Idaho, Utah, and Clark County, Nevada that build strong communities and help those in need.

We support organizations that are:

  • Addressing social determinants of health such as access to health care, food security and housing stability
  • Improving mental well-being
  • Improving chronic and avoidable health outcomes.

We will begin accepting applications for the 2026 Select Health Awards in January 2026.

Awards FAQs

Have any questions about the award or how to apply?

Organizations cannot use funding for:

  • Any form of compensation (e.g., salaries or speaker fees)
  • New building construction (e.g., bricks and mortar)
  • Overhead costs
  • Payments for rent, utilities, or space rental
  • Donations to another charity or allocation of the grant to other organizations (e.g., re-gifting the monies)
  • Payment of debt
  • Startup costs (new business)
  • One-time events (e.g., races, galas, tournaments)
  • Fundraising events
  • Scholarships (re-gifting)
  • Personal expenses
  • Illegal activity

Examples of what the $5,000 can be used for:

  • Program expenses and enhancements
  • Supplies and equipment
  • Fee for service
  • Ongoing campaigns
  • Educational material
  • Anything not listed under "restrictions"

Organizations whose services directly align with our current health priorities or address social determinants of health are given special consideration. For specific health priorities, see the list below.

No, applicants do not need to be nonprofit organizations.

We accept the first 200 applications for each participating state.

We will identify 10 winners from Idaho, Utah, and Clark County, Nevada who will receive the $5,000 award. All applications are reviewed by a committee to determine the awardees.

Information submitted as part of the Select Health Awards application will not be retained or used for any purpose other than promoting your program or to share with other groups with a similar mission and purpose to Select Health.

Past recipients must wait two years before applying again. For example, 2022 winners will be eligible again in 2025.

Yes, the monetary award is taxable. Recipients must submit either a Federal ID number or social security number prior to payment of the award.

  • First consideration is given to those whose services directly align with the health priorities above or address a social determinant of health
  • Consider whether you are a local organization serving local communities
  • Be specific when sharing your organization's purpose, goals, and aims
  • Share how the award will boost your organization's ability to complete a goal or provide a service you've been working towards
  • Think long-term impact —we’re looking for initiatives and projects rather than one-time events

The winner is awarded $5,000 cash.
