Each year, Select Health makes changes to health plan offerings, including updates to medical, pharmacy, behavioral health, and other benefits. Included here are a few updates relevant to behavioral health providers for the 2027 plan year. We encourage you to review each member’s benefits before the visit so you can better understand their coverage and potential cost-share in advance.
Virtual office visits
Effective January 1, 2027, virtual mental health and substance use disorder visits will process the same as in-person office visits, requiring a copayment in most cases. If the member has a plan with a deductible, the copayment may be applied after the deductible is met.
Outpatient benefit processing
Also effective January 1, 2027, certain mental health services will be processed as outpatient benefits. This change may impact member cost-share amounts. Member cost-share amounts vary by plan and may include a deductible, coinsurance, or a copayment.
