Frequently Asked Questions

If you are already registered to use CareAffiliate, you will be able to access the new preauthorization tool by logging in to the Provider Access Point using your current username and password. NO ADDITIONAL ACCESS REQUEST IS NEEDED.

If you are not currently registered to use CareAffiliate and your office is requesting access for the first time: Sign up for access by submitting both 1) a login application and 2) a completed ITSA form to providerwebservices@selecthealth.org.

CareAffiliate will be available in view-only mode until March 15, 2026. This means that you will still be able to view and monitor any requests that were previously submitted with CareAffiliate. All online medical preauthorization requests created on or after September 15, 2025, should be submitted through the Preauth & Care Plan Tool.

We are committed to providing you with the resources and support you need to navigate the transition smoothly. Contact us at web.preauth.support@selecthealth.org with any questions or concerns.

This change does not apply to any preauthorization requests submitted through PromptPA. You can continue using PromptPA as you normally would.

While preauthorization requests should primarily be submitted via Select Health’s online tools, a manual preauthorization form can be submitted by email or fax in some cases. Please note that manual preauthorization requests will take more time to be processed. Learn more.

Other than the new tool you will use to submit online requests, there are no other changes to the preauthorization process. In other words, if you submitted requests in CareAffiliate, you will submit those same requests in the Preauth & Care Plan Tool. We are not making any changes to the CPT codes requiring authorizations.
