SelectHealth is a not-for-profit health plan serving more than 800,000 members in Utah and Idaho. We are committed to helping our members and everyone in our communities stay healthy. In fact, we share a mission with Intermountain Healthcare®: Helping people live the healthiest lives possible.®
In the more than 35 years we’ve been in business, we’ve learned a few things about health insurance. We strive to be a part of improving healthcare, from cost to quality. Our integration with Intermountain Healthcare helps us ensure high-quality healthcare at the lowest possible cost for our members and the community.
Integration with Intermountain Healthcare
Together with Intermountain Healthcare, we form a not-for-profit health system committed to going beyond treating illness and injury by encouraging healthy behaviors that can lead to longer, more fulfilling lives. Our relationship with Intermountain Healthcare has many benefits:
We work alongside the entire Intermountain team—from clinic to hospital—to ensure that you receive the best possible care.
Members who are Intermountain patients have access to medical records, claims, and benefit information through a secure website called My Health—another example of how integration helps provide excellent service.
By working closely with Intermountain, we can identify and implement best practices—this helps us achieve lasting improvements in cost reduction.
Resources such as hospitals, doctors, and our health plans are aligned to help people stay well. We promote preventive screenings and healthy lifestyles through our wellness programs and incentives.
Scope of service
Along with our health plans, the use of Intermountain’s physical clinics, home-health agencies, hospitals, and occupational medicine clinics means we can provide a relatively seamless continuum of care.
Partnership with St. Luke’s Health System
In Idaho, SelectHealth and St. Luke’s Health System, along with affiliated physicians, have formed an alliance that is transforming healthcare. Our partnership has created a unique business and clinical model that allows us to work together to pay for value rather than paying for volume. By working together, we align the incentives for everyone to focus on the best outcomes for our members and the most cost-effective delivery of care. This model of shared accountability drives innovation, efficiency, and convenience. It involves every stakeholder in the quest for great care: individuals, employees, physicians, hospitals, employers, health plans, and the community.
About St. Luke's Health System: St. Luke’s Health Partners is an integrated network of approximately 1,400 employed and independent healthcare providers. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Luke’s Health System, the only Idaho-based not-for-profit health system. St. Luke’s has seven hospitals, more than 150 clinics, and 14,000 employees.
