Idaho Transition Plans

Short-Term Limited Duration plans are specifically tailored to help cover accidents and illnesses for a short period of time.

What are Transition Plans?

Transition plans are temporary health insurance options that help bridge the gap between two phases of coverage. They’re often used when someone is moving from one type of health insurance to another, like from a student plan to employer-based coverage, or between two jobs.

Who transition plans are good for:

Employees

Employees in a waiting period for group coverage.

Individuals

Individuals who missed the open enrollment window.

Unemployed

People who have been laid off or are in-between jobs.

Recent Graduates

Recent graduates in-between jobs.

New Business Owners

Recently opened businesses not yet eligible for insurance.

Children

Children who are no longer eligible under a parent’s plan.

Seasonal Employees

Seasonal or contract employees.

What providers can you see in Idaho?

Select Health members in Idaho can access the St. Luke’s Health Partners (SLHP) and BrightPath networks. For covered services, providers and facilities accept the allowed charges (including payments for which you are responsible) negotiated by Select Health as payment in full and should not bill you for the difference. If you use in-network providers for covered services, they shouldn’t bill you for additional charges beyond payment amounts allowed by the plan. That’s why we strongly encourage you to use in-network providers.
