Original Medicare is a health insurance program provided by the government. Most people enroll in Original Medicare when they turn 65, but some can enroll earlier if they have a disability or a long-term illness. Original Medicare offers coverage for doctor visits, hospital stays, and other medical services.
Some people choose a Medicare Advantage plan, which is a simple, all-in-one plan that includes everything covered in Original Medicare with additional benefits like dental, hearing, and vision care.
Select Health Medicare is an all-in-one Medicare Advantage plan that offers more coverage than Original Medicare. Additional benefits include coverage for dental, hearing, vision, and prescription drugs. You’ll also get access to the Intermountain Health network and other affiliated providers, supported by a local team that can help you understand your benefits.
If you have questions or want help getting started, our Answer Team is here to help you. They can explain your options and help you enroll in the best plan for you.
Most people enroll in Medicare when they turn 65. You can enroll 3 months before your 65th birthday month, during your birthday month, and up to 3 months after your birthday month. This 7-month window is called your initial enrollment period.
Note: If your birthday is on the first of the month, your 7-month period starts 4 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 2 months after the month you turn 65.
Original Medicare is a great foundation, but Select Health offers additional benefits to better support your health care needs.
