Updates to Select Health Medicare commission schedule
We want to reiterate upcoming changes to the Select Health Medicare agent commission schedule.
Utah will transition to an updated Medicare Advantage commission schedule beginning October 1, 2026. These changes apply to new enrollments into both 2026 and 2027 Select Health Medicare plans.
Colorado will transition to an updated Medicare Advantage commissions schedule for 2027 plan enrollments with effective dates of January 1, 2027, or later.
What you need to know
- For 2026 Select Health Medicare plans in Utah, most plans will become non-commissionable for applications signed on or after October 1, 2026.
- For 2027 Select Health Medicare plans in Utah and Colorado, most plans will become non-commissionable for enrollments with an effective day of January 1, 2027 or later.
- Renewal commissions will continue for eligible members who remain enrolled in their existing plan.
- Nevada Select Health Medicare Advantage plans will remain commissionable at the applicable CMS allowable rates.
- These changes apply only to Select Health Medicare commissions and do not impact commercial products or other lines of business.
We recognize this is an important update and understand you may have questions regarding how these updates affect your Medicare business.

Please review these materials carefully to understand how these changes may impact your new Medicare enrollments and AEP planning. If you have questions after reviewing the information, contact your Sales Account Executive or the Medicare Advantage Agent Support (MAAS) team at 801-442-7320.
Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) mailing underway
Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) documents are on their way to members. Mailings will arrive in member households between September 23 – 30, 2026. The ANOC is an important resource that helps members understand changes to their plan benefits, costs, and coverage for the upcoming year.
What to know:
- Members should receive their ANOC packets in late September
- ANOCs help members understand how their current plan is changing for 2027
- This mailing can prompt questions—be ready to assist members as needed
Important:
Remember that CMS dictates that you cannot begin discussing 2027 plan options and collecting Scopes of Appointment until October 1, 2026.

If your clients have questions about their ANOC or don’t receive it, they can call Member Services at 855-442-9900 (TTY: 711). You can also call the Medicare Advantage Agent Support (MAAS) line at 801-442-7320 or email MAAS@selecthealth.org with any questions.

Social media dos and don’ts during AEP
Social media can be a powerful tool to connect with prospects and build relationships, but when it comes to Medicare marketing, strict CMS guidelines apply. Here are a few key reminders to keep your posts compliant:
Do…
- Keep it educational
- Share general Medicare information, plan overviews, or resources that help consumers better understand their choices.
- Use approved materials
- Use approved graphics, flyers, or videos. Never create your own versions of benefit content.
- Promote yourself
- You can share your contact information, availability, and how you can help guide members through their options.
- Link to official resources
- Direct prospects to official websites for more information
Don’t…
- Don’t go off script
- Don’t mention specific benefits, premiums, or cost-sharing unless you are using an approved, unaltered piece.
- Don’t make plan comparisons
- Comparisons between plans or carriers must use CMS-approved comparison tools.
- Don’t conduct sales conversations on social media
- Any detailed discussion of plan benefits must follow CMS-compliant sales appointment rules.
- Don’t use unapproved testimonials
- Only include testimonials or endorsements that meet CMS requirements and are part of approved materials.
- Don’t treat social media interactions as permission to market
- A like, comment, or response does not create permission to discuss plans or benefits. Consumers must contact you directly before marketing or sales conversations can begin.
When in doubt, keep posts simple, educational, and focused on you as a trusted Medicare resource, not the details of a specific plan.
Questions?
If you have questions about social media best practices and policy, please reach out to your Sales Account Executive or the Medicare Advantage Agent Support (MAAS) team at 801-442-7320.
Reminder: Select Health Agent of Record policy changes
As we are preparing for the 2027 Annual Enrollment Period, we wanted to remind you of the changes to the Agent of Record policy made earlier this year. This policy update reflects Select Health’s commitment to integrity, efficiency, and member-focused service. Here are the key points:
Policy and procedure
As of May 1, Select Health will no longer process the following Medicare Agent of Record (AOR) change requests:
- AOR change requests received from a member (e.g. handwritten letter or email).
- AOR change requests received from an agent (required signed AOR form).
What is NOT changing
- Agents that sell their book of business will still be able to choose who their book will be transferred to.
- If a member requests that their agent be removed due to receiving poor service, the policy will be updated to direct with Select Health. Additionally, these allegations may be subject to further review.
Anticipated benefits
- This process change will bring our organization in line with industry standards, allowing for consistent and fair practices across the market.
- Reduced risk of unethical practices and member confusion.
- Enhanced focus on member needs and plan stability.
Questions?
If you have questions about the Agent of Record policy, please reach out to your Sales Account Executive or the Medicare Advantage Agent Support (MAAS) team at 801-442-7320.
