Commercial Updates - August 2025

General

Update to Utah Top Producer Bonus Program

Our Utah Top Producer Bonus program criteria has remained unchanged for several years. Starting January 2026, the Agency level qualification will shift from a production dollar amount to member-based criteria. We will require a minimum of 2,000 commercial members to qualify (averaged over three months). Consequently, the Top Producer Bonus program for directly appointed agents will be discontinued at the end of 2025. The payment schedule will remain the same.

Agency Top Producer Bonus
Plan Type
Payment Amount
Individual and Transition Plans
17% or commissions paid
Small Employer Plans
22% or commissions paid
Large Employer Plans
1% of premium paid
Dental Plans
$1.25 per subscriber per month (PSPM)

When a book of business is purchased or transferred, there will be a one-year waiting period before override payments are issued on the newly acquired business—unless the transfer occurs within the same agency, in which case the waiting period does not apply.

Commission and bonus programs will be reviewed annually as part of our ongoing evaluation process.

Level Funding: A Cost-Effective Solution for Utah Large Employers

Level funded plans offer mid-to large-size Utah employers (51 or more enrolled subscribers) a balanced approach to healthcare coverage by combining the cost predictability of fully insured plans with the savings potential of self-funding.

Employers benefit from fixed monthly payments, broader data access through monthly claims reports, and a 50 percent surplus refund if claims are lower than expected. These plans also include integrated stop loss protection, nationwide tiered network access, and pharmacy savings through the Guided Pharmacy Savings (GPS) program.

Select Health provides robust wellness programs, regulatory support, and ancillary benefits like dental, vision, and employee assistance programs at no additional cost.
