Wellness

Encourage your clients to use no-cost colon cancer screening benefits

Many Select Health plans cover preventive colon cancer screenings at no additional cost when performed in-network. Early detection is critical, and agents can play an important role in reminding members to stay current with recommended screenings.

Below are resources you can share with employer groups and members to help them understand why screenings matter and what to expect.

What to Expect During Colonoscopy Prep

For many members, prep is the biggest barrier. This resource explains the process step-by-step, including diet changes, clear-liquid requirements, and what the day before the procedure looks like.

Signs You Need to Schedule a Colonoscopy

Some members may need screening sooner due to symptoms or medical history. This article outlines common red flags.

How you can support your groups

  • Encourage members ages 45+ to schedule preventive screening.
  • Reinforce that preventive colonoscopies are typically covered at no additional cost in-network.
  • Share the Select Health blog links above in client communications or on social media.
  • Remind HR teams to highlight preventive care during open enrollment and renewal discussions.

Your outreach helps ensure members understand their benefits and take advantage of preventive services that may save lives.

Help your clients stay on top of their health: blood pressure basics

Keeping blood pressure in a healthy range plays a big role in long-term wellness. To support members in understanding what it means and why it matters, Select Health offers an educational class that breaks down the fundamentals in a simple, approachable way.

During this session, members will get answers to common questions such as:

  • What is blood pressure and how is it measured?
  • What is hypertension?
  • What factors increase the risk of developing high blood pressure?
  • What steps can help prevent or manage high blood pressure?

These classes are a great resource for members looking to take charge of their health or gain confidence in managing existing conditions.
