COVID-19 Coverage
Current as of April 11, 2023
The Federal Government’s Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration related to COVID-19 is expected to expire on May 11, 2023. When it does expire, Scripius will change some of the benefits it administers, while other benefits will remain the same. Below is a summary:
What’s staying the same
Vaccines: When members receive a COVID vaccine at an in-network pharmacy, they will continue to have 100% coverage (i.e., members will pay no additional out-of-pocket cost).
What’s changing
Testing: When members get a COVID antigen test through a pharmacy, Scripius will no longer cover the test. However, members with benefits through a medical insurance carrier (Select Health, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, First Choice, etc.) may be able to receive covered testing at in-network doctors’ offices, labs, clinics, and hospitals through their medical insurance policy, depending on their benefits.
At-home/OTC testing: Scripius pharmacy benefits will no longer cover at-home or over-the-counter tests for COVID-19.
Treatments: Anti-viral drug treatments, such as Paxlovid, will be covered under the member’s normal Scripius plan benefits (i.e., applicable member cost sharing will apply).
Note: These benefit descriptions may not apply to all Scripius plans. If you have questions, please contact Pharmacy Services at 800-442-3127.
