How to apply for CHIP.
The process is easy and can be done at any time. There’s no limited enrollment period, and coverage can start immediately if you qualify. To get started, call
1-877-KIDS-NOW (1-877-543-7669).
CHIP vs Medicaid.
Medicaid provides medical coverage to adults and children below the federal poverty line. CHIP was created for children who fall outside of Medicaid eligibility but can’t be insured through a family plan. If your family already qualifies for Medicaid, you do not need to apply for CHIP coverage.

Get setup as a personal representative. If your child is 17 or younger, or is mentally incapable of making their own decisions, please contact Select Health member Services at 855-442-3234 to begin the process. Privacy is important to us. We will need to verify that you are who you say you are before we can give you information. This is to ensure the protection of the child’s information and is in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
