Flourless Protein Brownie Bites

If you need protein on-the-go, here’s a 4-ingredient protein bite recipe made without grains, sugar, or flour. They can be made ahead of time and kept frozen.

Flourless brownie bits recipe

Total time: 25 minutes

Makes 15 servings

Serving size: 1 bite

Ingredients

1 cup mashed bananas

½ cup smooth almond butter (can sub peanut or other nut butter)

¼ cup cocoa powder

1-2 scoops protein powder

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a mini muffin tin with liners or ensure each muffin tin is generously greased.

In a high-speed blender or mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and blend/mix until smooth.

Pour brownie mixture into each muffin tin, filling until almost full. Because there isn’t baking powder in the recipe, they generally won’t rise.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until a skewer/toothpick comes out just clean. Allow to cool in the muffin tin completely. For best results, refrigerate for several hours after cooling.

Note: They should be kept refrigerated. Brownie bites will not be overly sweet. Casein protein powder or vegan protein powder seems to work best in this recipe.
