    The doctor probably needs to spend more time listening to a patient describe his/her symptoms and concerns than in being in a rush to leave the exam room. Try to reassure a patient instead of being dismissive. Dr. Day has previously been a good physician and good towards me, but not this time.

    Dr. Day did not take a close look at all of the ECG readings I had on my phone before saying that they were all normal. He was dismissive and seemed more intent on scolding me about wasting his time than in listening closely to my concerns. He had the door open and was ready to leave before I had even finished expressing myself.

    On this occasion Dr Day seemed to be feeling behind schedule and it showed. He rushed through the consult and displayed no discernible empathy at my dismay when he told me I might need a pacemaker. All in all, I felt treated like a number, not a person.
