Germs are all around us Though some objects seemingly contain much more bacteria than others, there are many that may surprise you. We decided to uncover the truth about some unsuspecting items in your home that contain massive amounts of bacteria. Watch this video about six of the most germ-filled items in your home.

Fall is the beginning of cold and flu season; Prevent illness by washing, disinfecting, or replacing these items frequently. If you have children in your home, take things a step further by teaching them about germs early on in their lives. “You can never start too early, says Dr. Edward Stenehjem, MD, with Intermountain Health. “As soon as you feel they can understand these simple tips [like washing hands regularly and cough etiquette], start teaching about what germs are and how to prevent them.”
