Choose Generics

Generic drugs typically cost less than brand-name drugs and have lower copays/coinsurance. They have the same active ingredients, dosages, quality, safety, and strength as their brand-name counterparts.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires generic drugs to have the same quality and performance as brand-name drugs.

Log into My Health to find out if there are generic alternatives for drugs you take. Ask your doctor if you have questions about generic drugs.

GenericSample is a way for you to try generics for free. This program waives your copay/coinsurance for the first 30-day fill of select generic prescriptions. GenericSample is only offered at participating retail pharmacies. It is not available under the 90-day maintenance drug benefit or on HealthSave plans.
